Uprooted plant solution!

Well I came up with a solution to uprooted plants. I honestly don't know why plant makers don't weight the bases to their plants, the bastards.

Anyway, All I needed was some aquarium silicone, gravel, and plants(Duh).
So I started putting down a good thick layer of silicone and pressing gravel into the silicone. I did this until the whole plant base was covered with gravel and did this 2 more times with my other plants.

Now if Squirt reveals the plant base, it doesn't matter because it stays on the bottom!

Been a long time

Lots of new stuff happened since I posted last!

I got busy with school and finals week, but now I am out on my summer break and I can start blogging about turtles again.

Okay, So I upgraded squirts tank to a 55 gallon acrylic. I got a sweet deal on it through craigslist. It came with the stand, Rena Filstar XP1, Marineland Penguin 350 Hang on back, heater( which upon inspection was broken.), water conditioner, a XL gravel vacuum, I think I got everything, but I got the whole shebang for $250 damn good deal.

Since the heater was broken, I had to get a new one, I went all out and got a Marineland visi therm stealth, 250 watt, for up to 75 gallons. What a quality heater. It puts all glass ones to shame.

I did sand as a substrate in this tank as well, nothing else would do now that I had it in the other tank.

It took forever to mount the hoses to the xp1 because some things were missing so I had to make that up with some 5/8" tubing. In the end it all worked out because I got to customize what depth the intake and outflow were at.

Heres a pic of the new tank:
